I-45: Color Doppler Sonography of Endometrium in Infertility Patients
Authors
Abstract:
Background Endometrial receptivity is one of parameters which determine the reproductive outcome in in vitro fertilization programs. A good blood supply towards the endometrium is usually considered to be an essential requirement for implantation. Blood vessels of the endometrium can be detected by transvaginal color and pulse Doppler sonography. Color Doppler assessment permits better visualization of endometrial vessels in infertility treatment. Absence of subendometrial blood flow seems to be more significant negative predictor than morphological assessment of endometrium. Color mapping of endometrial vascularity were classified in various types according to the degree of penetration into the endometrial thickness. In this way we can differentiate four Zones: Zone 0 (absent), Zone1 (sub-endometrial), Zone2 (outer hyperechogenic Zone), Zone 3(inner hypoechogenic Zone). We aimed to evaluate the role of endometrial and subendometrial blood flows; detected by Color Dopplers Sonography in the prediction of pregnancy rate during IVF treatment. Pnm-10: The Usage of Sonography and Color Doppler in Infertility
Infertility is defined as the failure to conceive a desired pregnancy after 12 months of unprotected intercourse, and affects 10 percent of married couples. The causes of infertility can involve one or both partners. Causes of female infertility: • Fallopian tube factors (damage or blockage due to salpingitis, EP) • Ovulation disorders (PCOS ,Early menopause ) • Uterine factors • Intrauterine l...

Sexual impotent is very common entity and define as inability to induce or maintaining penile erection during sexual intercourse. Studies reveals about 10% of men aged 40-70 years have complete, 17% have mild and 25% have moderate amount of erectile dysfunction. The sexual impotence has different etiology including psychogenic, neurogenic, arteriogenic and venogenic causes. Current studies reve...

Background Fetal growth restriction is the second leading cause of perinatal morbidity and mortality. The incidence of intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) is estimated to be approximately 5 percent in the general obstetric population. Abnormal uterine artery suggest a maternal cause for the growth restriction where as normal uterine artery Doppler studies suggest that a fetal cause. Use of u...
full textTwinkling artifact on intracerebral color Doppler sonography.
Transcranial Doppler sonography shows potential as a noninvasive technique for long-term follow-up of treated intracranial saccular aneurysms. This technical note describes a color Doppler artifact related to microcoil architecture that might represent a potential pitfall in transcranial Doppler sonographic evaluation of aneurysmal cavity thrombosis, since it may be wrongly interpreted as resid...
full textColor Doppler sonography in the detection of parathyroid adenomas.
BACKGROUND Various diagnostic modalities have been utilized to aid in the detection of abnormal parathyroid tissue; however, its localization is not always easy. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the evaluation of potential hemodynamic changes in thyroid arteries could aid in the detection of parathyroid adenomas. METHODS Twenty-eight patients with laboratory evidence of hype...
full textColor Doppler sonography in penetrating injuries of the neck.
PURPOSE To determine whether color Doppler sonography can be a sensitive alternative to screening arteriography for identifying arterial injury in patients with penetrating traumatic neck injuries. METHODS Fifty-two patients admitted to our trauma center with penetrating neck injuries (gunshot wounds and lacerations) were examined prospectively with color Doppler sonography, and findings were...
